Advanced Ecological Monitoring Program Certification
The advanced ecological monitoring program certification course is designed for students that have a background in marine biology and have a goal of establishing a career in marine science. This prestigious certification will allow each student to gain a plethora of knowledge regarding different monitoring, experimental, and restoration methodologies. Students applying for this program need to demonstrate a long-term commitment to marine conservation. This program, unlike the other courses, takes several weeks and dives to complete.
Prerequisites:
Be certified under a globally recognized diving agency (PADI, SSI, NAUI etc.)
Be at an advanced level of diving and demonstrate self-awareness underwater
Have >24 verified logged dives
Completed the Ecological Monitoring Plan certification
Completed Coral Identification and Taxonomy certification
Completed Competition and Biofouling
Completed atleast 3 of the other specialized certifications
Standards:
Become proficient in conducting all of the Ecological Monitoring Plan surveys
Gain a better understanding of the scientific method, when establishing your own research project
Enter data into our long-term monitoring databases
Assist in active coral restoration with the restore with resilience project
Requirements:
Attend all lectures associated with the Ecological Monitoring Plan
Attend 3 specialized lectures
Perform at least one compromised coral health or coral bleaching survey
pass all written exams >80%
Lead at least one lecture regarding your research project

Approximate time for course completion: 6 weeks (24 days) and ~30-40 dives
